Marbella Guide

Old Town
Orange Square Marbella (Plaza de los Naranjos)Marbella's old town centres around the Orange Square (Plaza de los Naranjos) which features a wide variety of traditional Spanish and modern international restaurants and bars. The narrow streets are home to a large array of boutiques selling everything from wicker baskets to designer names such as Versace, Gucci, Burberry and Escada. There are also some less expensive but still pretty cool shops. This is also where you will find the Tourist Information centre. Take my advice, pick up a paper, grab a beer and watch the world go by. View Marbella webcam here.

Paseo Martimo
Marbella has some of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol. Marbella's Paseo Maritimo (promenade) runs for 6 km along the front. Bike, rollerskate or walk along and enjoy the chiringuitos (beach restaurants) and sun beds every 300 - 400 metres. Just off Marbella's promenade there is the large family beach with over 27 km (yes, 27km!) of clean, well maintained beaches equipped with first-aid posts, showers, loos etc.

Golden Mile
Marbella's Golden Mile begins at the western edge of Marbella city and stretches to Puerto Banus. It is home to the most exclusive villas and hotels, such as Puente Romano and Hotel Club Marbella. My personal recommendation for a simply outrageous meal is Villa Tiberio. Believe me, it is out of this world - the setting, the service, the food.

Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus Beach Marbella Costa del SolPuerto Banus is really just an extension of Marbella and of course, a glamorous one. Great beach, shops, bars and restaurantsand a Ferrari strewn boardwalk by the Marina.

My personal favourite things to do here are - eat in Red Pepper on the boardwalk (it's a Greek restaurant, really good food - 952 812 148 - wonder if Sean Connery has ever eaten there and ordered a Mousshhaka), have a Puerto Banus Marinabeer (recurring theme) and watch the boats and gorgeous people go by, hit the Corte Ingles and shop in 007 - the world's best swimwear shop. More info and pics on our dedicated Puerto Banus page.
