As a regular Marbella visitor this sites contains my personal recommendations of how to get the most out of your visit to Marbella. Use the links on the left to find out about where to stay and what to do. Let's start with a bit of history.
Marbella History
Marbella's reputation for luxury goes back to the beginning of modern Marbella. In the 1940s Marbella had a population of just 900 or so until two wealthy Germans broke down in their Rolls Royce nearby. They liked it so much they came back and built the Hotel Marbella Club which opened in 1954, still a deluxe Marbella hotel today (also check out the nearby Puente Romano).
The jet-set then arrived, Prince Fahd, the von Bismarcks, and stars such as Omar Sharif and Sean Connery set up homes on the Golden Mile. In the 1990s the Mayor, Jesus Gil y Gil allowed a lot of new building including the Ferrari strewn Puerto Banus development, Nuevo Andalucia and this extended to developments in Estepona, Fiuengirola and Benalmadena.
Marbella attractions include the Orange Square, Corte Ingles, Puerto Banus Marina, Golf and Bullfighting. Use the menu on the left to explore Marbella further.
